Day-by-Day Itinerary

  1. 1

    Day 1: Arrive in Arusha

Arrive in Arusha, the northern Tanzania safari gateway, and meet the Proven Adventures team for a practical route briefing. We check your luggage, explain game-drive etiquette, and confirm the next morning’s departure plan. Settle into a selected Arusha safari hotel and enjoy dinner at leisure. This first night keeps the long road journey out of your arrival day and gives the group time to rest before entering the Serengeti ecosystem.

  2. 2

Day 2: Travel to Central Serengeti

After an early breakfast, leave Arusha for the Serengeti with a packed lunch for the road. The journey becomes part of the safari as open grassland replaces the highland scenery and the first wildlife sightings begin. Your driver-guide handles park formalities and interprets the changing habitats along the route. Arrive at Serengeti Serena Camp for dinner and an unhurried first night beneath the wide Serengeti sky.

Day 3: Full day in Central Serengeti

Central Serengeti delivers a full day of game driving across the Seronera area, where permanent water supports wildlife through much of the year. Leave camp early, when lions, hyenas, and other predators are often still active, then pause for a picnic breakfast or return for lunch according to the day’s sightings. Your guide adjusts the route for animal movements and road conditions. Dinner and overnight are at Serengeti Serena Camp.

Day 4: Serengeti plains and kopjes

Today is dedicated to patient Serengeti wildlife viewing rather than a rushed checklist. Morning and afternoon game drives search the kopjes, river lines, and open plains for elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra, wildebeest, and the predators that follow them. Between drives, take lunch and rest at camp during the warmest part of the day. Return to Serengeti Serena Camp for dinner, swapping sightings and photographs around the evening meal.

Day 5: Follow the wildlife movement

A flexible full-day game drive lets your guide follow the strongest wildlife reports of the morning. In the dry season, animals often gather around reliable water and grazing areas; in greener months, the herds may spread widely across the plains. This is the right day to slow down at a promising sighting and watch natural behaviour unfold. A packed lunch extends your time in the reserve before dinner and overnight at Serengeti Serena Camp.

Day 6: Final Serengeti game drives

Enjoy a final complete safari day in Serengeti National Park, with the route shaped around species you still hope to find. Your driver-guide can revisit productive areas from earlier drives or explore a different section of the central plains. Meals are included, with time to relax at camp between outings. The day ends with a final dinner at Serengeti Serena Camp and time to prepare luggage for tomorrow’s departure.

Day 7: Serengeti to Arusha departure

Take an early farewell game drive as you leave the Serengeti, giving the morning one last chance for wildlife sightings before the return journey. Breakfast is arranged according to the departure timing, and your driver-guide transfers you back to Arusha. This package ends in Arusha, where onward travel can be planned separately. Proven Adventures can quote regional flight options from Nairobi when you prefer to connect the Tanzania safari with your Kenya itinerary.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is included in this Serengeti safari price?
The 7-Day Serengeti Signature Safari from Proven Adventures includes six nights of safari accommodation, meals from dinner on day one through breakfast on day seven, shared game drives, an English-speaking driver-guide, drinking water, road transfers from and back to Arusha, and applicable park and conservation fees. International and regional flights, visas, drinks, tips, laundry, travel insurance, and optional activities are not included.
How much does a 7-day Serengeti safari cost?
The package starts from KES 410,000 per adult in low season for a Tanzania citizen, based on shared safari arrangements. Non-resident low-season prices start from KES 410,000 per adult, while dry-season peak dates cost more because camp space and wildlife-viewing demand are higher. A final quote depends on travel dates, room type, group size, and confirmed camp availability.
Can children join the Serengeti safari?
Children aged 2 to 11 can travel on the child rate when sharing with adults, subject to the selected camp’s room and vehicle rules. Serengeti game drives are long and wildlife sightings are never predictable, so Proven Adventures recommends this itinerary for children who are comfortable with early starts and several hours in a safari vehicle. Infants and child-sharing arrangements are quoted individually.
When is the best time to visit Serengeti National Park?
July through October is a popular time for a Serengeti safari because dry conditions make wildlife viewing especially rewarding. December through March is also a high-demand period. April to May and November generally offer lower package prices and quieter camps. The best dates depend on whether your priority is dry-season game viewing, lower rates, or a specific part of the migration.
Do Kenyan travellers need a visa for Tanzania?
Most visitors need a Tanzania visa, and published guidance places a single-entry visa at about USD 50, with some visa types costing more. Tanzania is not part of the East Africa Tourist Visa arrangement used for Kenya, Uganda, and Rwanda. Proven Adventures recommends checking current nationality-specific entry rules before booking, because visa requirements and payment procedures can change.
Are Serengeti park fees included?
Serengeti park and conservation fees are included in this package price. These compulsory charges are a major part of a Tanzania safari cost; published guidance places park fees alone at about USD 490 for a seven-day trip. Optional extras, such as a hot-air-balloon flight, village visit, alcoholic drinks, tips, personal purchases, and travel insurance, are paid separately.
Is there a single supplement for solo travellers?
A solo traveller can book the 7-Day Serengeti Signature Safari, but a single supplement normally applies because safari camps price rooms on a shared basis. Proven Adventures will confirm the supplement after checking the travel season and tent availability. Travellers who are open to sharing a vehicle may reduce the transport portion of the trip, subject to a suitable departure being available.
How do I book this Serengeti safari with Proven Adventures?
To book, send Proven Adventures your preferred dates, number of adults and children, nationality or residence category, and room preference. Our team will check camp space, reconfirm the relevant park fees, and issue a tailored quotation before any reservation is secured. We can also price regional flights from Nairobi separately, as return Nairobi-to-Serengeti air travel commonly costs USD 700 to USD 1,000.
